East Shore Arts is an independent entertainment company with specialties in theatre, film and new media production. Founded in 2021, ESA provides artistic response to the modern world and invigorates audiences through bold, adventurous and inclusive productions and education.

Dave Register - Founder

Dave is an actor, producer and educator working out of Portland, Maine, New York City and Los Angeles.

Born and raised in and around Portland, he began his career in 2010 with John Cariani’s Last Gas at Portland Stage Company and later with Fenix Theatre Company, Portland Symphony Orchestra and Port Fringe. After earning his MFA in Acting from Columbia University, Dave joined the original Broadway cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts 1 and 2 and later reprised his roles with the San Francisco company at the Curran Theatre. He starred in Ivo van Hove’s Tony-Award winning revival of A View From the Bridge at the Kennedy Center and has performed Off-Broadway with Ars Nova and Classic Stage Company. His television credits include Madam Secretary (CBS), FBI (CBS) and Graves (Epix) and has appeared in the feature films The Price, The Witch Files and Steven Soderbergh’s High Flying Bird (Netflix).

Dave founded East Shore Arts in 2021 and launched its first production, Annie Baker’s The Aliens, with co-producer Mayo Street Arts at Tandem Coffee Roasters in East Bayside, Portland. He is the co-founder of R and R Acting Studio and a 2021 Coffee By Design Rebel Blend Grant recipient. He currently teaches acting in Portland and will co-star with longtime friend and collaborator Sara Friedman in the upcoming feature film Heightened.
